Jason Webb
Director of Bands
Jason Webb is in his 6th year as Director of Bands, and 12th year overall at Royse City ISD. Jason has been teaching band in North Texas for the past 19 years and is a frequent clinician and adjudicator in the area. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and a Master of Music Performance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jason resides in Forney, Texas with his wife, Carrie, two kids, Clark and Caroline, and dog, Penny.
Tim King
Associate Director of Bands
Tim King grew up in Amarillo, TX and attended Tascosa High School. There he was a two-time member of the TMEA All-State Band. He then attended West Texas A&M University for his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and later earned his Master’s Degree in Music. He performed and conducted in many ensembles at WT including the highly acclaimed WTAMU Symphonic Band. After earning his Bachelor's degree, Mr. King taught for several years in College Station, TX. There he served as Head Director for College Station Middle School and as an Assistant for A&M Consolidated High School. While working for his Masters degree he served as Assistant Marching Band Director for the Sound of West Texas - the WTAMU Buffalo Marching Band. He also taught undergraduate Woodwind Methods and Instrument Techniques. After earning his Masters Degree, Mr. King worked in Bastrop, TX as the Associate Director of Bands for Bastrop HS for two years. Mr. King then worked in Lubbock, TX for six years where he served as Director of Bands for Ed Irons Middle School. While at Irons Middle School Mr. King was honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018 school year. Also, Mr. King has performed in many different groups including the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Bryan Theater Company, and the Community Bible Church Orchestra in San Antonio, TX. He also regularly adjudicates and clinics bands across the state. Mr. King's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Texas Music Adjudicators Association and Phi Beta Mu, the International School Bandmasters Fraternity. He lives in Royse City with his lovely wife, Debbie Chang, and 3-year-old son, Christopher.
Taylor Cole
Assistant Band Director
Taylor Cole directs the Symphonic Band and assists the other performing bands and marching band in the Royse City High School Band Program. She joined the Royse City Team in 2025. Before coming to Royse City, Ms. Cole served as a long-term sub in the band program at Melissa Middle School. During this time she taught beginner trumpet, euphonium, and saxophone classes, as well as assisted with one of the sub non varsity performing bands. In 2024, Ms. Cole graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. During her time at TTU, she studied flute under Dr. Spencer Hartman and Dr. Lisa Garner Santa. She also performed in various ensembles such as the Symphonic Wind Ensemble conducted by Dr. Sarah Mckoin, Symphonic Band directed by Dr. Eric Allen, University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dr. Lanfranco Marcelletti, and was also a proud member of the Goin' Band from Raiderland. Ms. Cole lives in Rowlett and enjoys reading, cycle classes, and spending lots of time with family and friends. She loves being a part of the Royse City Band family!
Connor Pickle
Director of Percussion
Connor Pickle currently serves as the Director of Percussion for Royse City ISD in Royse City, TX. Mr. Pickle oversees the percussion curriculum for the RCISD cluster and co-directs the Marching Band Drumline, Concert Ensembles, and Percussion Ensembles. He maintains an active professional music career performing with a variety of musical ensembles and providing clinics and adjudications throughout the state of Texas. He played snare drum in the WGI Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Surround Sound, and performed on drumset in the front ensemble with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Pickle earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude, in Music Education and Percussion Performance at East Texas A&M-University. He lives in Wylie, TX with his wife Megan (Band Director at Plano East HS), his son Darren, and their corgi, Pebbles.
Jordan Ferguson
Assistant Percussion Director
Jordan Ferguson, Assistant Percussion Director, is going into his fifth year of teaching in Royse City ISD. Mr. Ferguson teaches percussion classes 6th-8th grade at Ouida Baley Middle School and assists with the Royse City High School Band. Before joining the RCISD family, he taught as a freelance private instructor and assistant percussion director with districts across the North Texas area including Forney ISD, Garland ISD, and Mesquite ISD. Mr. Ferguson is a 2017 graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he studied business and music. Outside of teaching, he enjoys camping, woodworking, dark roast coffee, and spending time with his wife, Jennaca, who is also a band director, and their baby boy Jonah.
Terry Hurley
Color Guard Director
Originally from the state of Virginia, Terry has been involved in the pageantry arts since he was in high school. After high school, he taught and performed with multiple independent groups in Virginia. Additionally, Terry was a member and guard captain of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, aging out in 2014. After drum corps, he moved to Dallas, TX where he began teaching with the Marcus High School Band. Since moving to Texas, he has directed multiple programs, including Northwest High School, The Colony High School, Keller High School, and Klein Oak High School in Houston, TX. Additionally, Terry has consulted and taught at other schools in the North Texas area and beyond.
Terry is actively involved with the North Texas Color Guard Association, having previously served on the Executive Board as Member-At-Large and Treasurer, and has fulfilled multiple roles in various jobs/committees. It is important to him to create a safe environment where students and peers can learn and collaborate.
